The pricing of healthcare is based on factors such wage rates, patient’s ability to pay, insurance costs, cost of living, and the current regulations governing the health industry. Notwithstanding, health care is much more affordable in Jamaica than most industrialised countries. This has in no way affected the quality of care provided, given the surgeon’s training and exposure to effective patient care and management techniques.
