Dr. Duane Patten is one of Jamaica’s first fully fellowshipped trained Minimally Invasive and Complex Spinal Neurosurgeon. Dr. Patten graduated from The University of the West Indies in 2006 and completed his training as a neurosurgeon at the same institution. In 2019, he completed his Complex Spine Fellowship at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, where he worked under the tutelage of some of the most esteemed spine surgeons in Australasia. He treats patients with brain and spine related disorders, is empathetic, caring and knowledgeable. His specialised technique is especially helpful in limiting blood loss during surgery, enhancing patients’ recovery through shorter stay in the hospital and early return to full health and by extension, work.
